Emily Pelland (any pronoun) utilizes traditional and new media to share stories of the human experience through photography, video, virtual reality, and audio. Their reporting focuses on compassionate long-form, non-fiction storytelling. Emily completed their Master’s degree in Journalism from the Reed College of Media at West Virginia University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. They work with 100 Days in Appalachia and freelance. Their feature-length documentary “Raised By Wolves” about American far-right extremist recruitment of boys will be released this year.
